The Opemus 6a enlargers have been designed to produce black and white or color photographs from negatives up to 60 x 60 mm or slides up to 5 x 5 cm. It is possible to use these enlargers with wide variety of accessories. The device is available in three modifications:

Opemus 6a for black and white (392 211 401 010) photography featuring direct correction for converging verticals and special color filters holder to produce color photographs. Condenser system consists of double planconvex lens with built in thermal filter. The lamp is opaline 150W/E27 fitting with 70 mm envelope (not included). Diffuser is inserted in filter holder. Negative carrier is metal and with split line focusing system. Enlarger is equiped with micro focusing system.

Opemus 6a Color 3 (392 211 400 906) for color photography featuring the Meopta Color 3 special color head enabling stepless filtration adjustment using the subtractive method. Negative carrier is metal and with split line focusing system.

Opemus 6a Color 4-ES (392 211 410 051) for color photography featuring the Color 4-ES special color head enabling stepless filtration adjustment using the subtractive method. Negative carrier is metal and with split line focusing system.

The Opemus 6a enlarger allows image restitution meeting the Scheimpflug condition. Swiveling the device by 90° provides wall projection. Swiveling the enlarger by 180° provides floor projection of high standard enlargements.

Color head 4-ES

The Color 4-ES head for color photography is an exchangeable unit which can recombined with the latest types of amateur enlarging apparatuses Meopta. After being installed on the enlarger, the color head accomplishes the function of light source with possibility of continuous change of spectral radiation and also of change of the exit luminous flux.

The head for color photography Color 4-ES enables a continuous, smooth setting of the density required for the given correction filter. Any of the three filters is set by means of turning knobs Y, M and C on the front panel of the instrument, fitted with illuminated scales. The interference filters used, which have been manufactured by vacuum-evaporation of dielectric layers on a glass carrier, are highly heat resistant, color - fast and their service life is practically unlimited. The filtration range of all three filters is 0...200 filtration units. The set color filtration can be easily cleared by the controlling device on the left side of the instrument. Moreover the head for color photography is fitted with an adjustable density stop. Setting of the exit luminous flux is accomplished by means of a perforated stop which is introduced into the light path by means of the turning knob D. The maximum scale value is 60 density units which corresponds approximately to 2 stop numbers of the lens. The set density stop can be put out of function by means of the controlling device situated on the right side of the instrument.

The primary light source is a halogen reflector lamp of ESJ 82V/85W type which features a high level of the radiated luminous flux and a high color temperature. The lamp has an excellent long-lasting stability of the radiated luminous flux, the drop during the whole life time being approximately 2%. Comparable properties features no other similar commercially available lamp. The halogen lamp is energized from the electronic stabilization unit, directly built-in the color head body. It is formed by a plate of the printed circuit mounted into a plastic carrier. The stabilization unit assures the lamp supply voltage stability with a precision better than 2% with the mains voltage variation within ±10%.

The electronic circuit features, furthermore, a progressive increase of the output voltage after closing which prevents formation of unwanted current impulses shortening the lamp life.

The electronic stabilization unit is easily adjustable, in the manufacturing works, to all know mains voltage used in the world. Combining the lamp featuring an excellent long-lasting radiation stability with a stabilizing supply circuit resulted in forming an electro-optical unit securing an instantaneous as well as a long-lasting stability of the radiated light.
